PSYCHOLOGICAL:
Bryony
is a very happy person although she can be very
stubborn
when opposed. She has little patience for the logic of Vulcans but
is very
friendly to all other races, and she bears no other prejudices.
MEDICAL:
"Bryony
is in excellent physical condition. She recently has
survived
a phaser blast to the stomach but appears to suffer no ill effects
from
that except for a fear of Ferengis and phasers. She bears an almost
unnoticeable
scar on her right cheek as a result of a very deep cut. I
noticed,
while she was in my care, that she hates being sick, so any future
doctors,
beware!"

PERSONAL INFORMATION:
PROFILE:
Bryony
West was an excellent student. She completed primary school
a year
ahead of schedule, and high school two years ahead. After completing
one
year of a degree in Arts/Engineering at Oxford University, she entered
Starfleet
Academy at the minimum age of 16, where her results were nearly
always
near the top of the class. She showed a great interest in astronomy,
as well
as engineering. She nearly always displayed a sunny personality,
had
a vivid imagination, a sometimes warped sense of humor, and got along
with
most people.
AMBITIONS:
Were
to eventually become a starship captain or Chief Engineer.
HOBBIES:
Bryony
enjoys playing the flute, as well as stargazing. She also
is an
excellent swimmer, and enjoys bike riding. She likes playing
practical
jokes when the occasion calls for it (and sometimes when it
doesn't).
PERSONAL HISTORY:
Bryony
was born in 24th century England, eldest of three daughters, the
second
born child in the family. At the age of five, she was already
showing
the makings of being a born engineer. Anything electronic
interested
her, and she was always curious as to how things worked. Another
interest
that developed about this time was astronomy. On many evenings,
Bryony
could be found looking through her telescope into the night sky and
dreaming
of the day when she would be up there with the stars.
She was
a very bright child, and completed primary and high school three
years
ahead of schedule. She then attended Oxford University for some time
before
deciding that Engineering really interested her, and that being a
Starfleet
officer would expand her skills.
STARFLEET CAREER:
She was
a very quiet student but very hard working. Bryony showed a
tremendous
amount of respect for her senior officers but there were times
where
she would speak before she had thought. But unless someone annoys
her,
she will not show any disrespect. Bryony was an excellent pilot, not
quite
getting into Nova Squadron but forming her own after the
disappointment
of not getting in. The squadron was named 'Terra Squadron'
and
was made up of some of the elite pilots who didn't quite get into the
Nova
Squadron. For a while there, it seemed like the Terra's would
outperform
the Nova's, and in doing so, Bryony showed remarkable leadership
skills.
After
leaving the Academy, Bryony was immediately assigned CEO of the new
Feynman-class
ship, the USS GAUSS. During this time, she saved the ship
from
two warp core breaches, and worked closely with the crew of the
TSUNAMI
to get both ships safely out of the coal-sack.
On the
second mission, the ship was nearly destroyed. Several officers
stood
trial for not following orders. Bryony was not one of these. In fact,
Bryony
was in hospital at the time recovering from a near fatal phaser
blast.
She recovered in time for the next mission.
The crew
was reassigned to the USS CARSON, an 100-year old frigate. What
was
supposed to be a simple mapping expedition turned interesting when the
crew
found a derelict ship floating in space with one survivor on board.
The
survivor's ship was rigged so that no information could be retrieved
out
of it, and it self-destructed, presumably killing two officers. The
explosion
caused a temporal rift, pulling the CARSON into another universe,
five
years into the future where it met up with the new USS GAUSS. The two
crews
combined to outwit the survivor who was intent on destroying both the
ships.
To get back to their universe, Bryony used an old method of
implosion
to go back in time, and then to pass through the equivalent
temporal
rift, ending up back in their right universe. The two officers who
were
on derelict ship when it exploded managed to survive, and were picked
up by
the GAUSS when it arrived back.
With
the GAUSS destroyed and the CARSON decommissioned, Bryony was
reassigned
to the USS HUNTINGTON and promoted to full Lieutenant. She had
only
been there a matter of days before a saboteur blew the ship up. The
crew
then transferred to a new ship, the USS McKINLEY.
Bryony
then received a call from Red Fleet, and went to Kappa to be
assigned
as OPS/20 of the USS TEMPEST. The only bad thing about this was
leaving
her new fiancée, Dr. Jackson Stone, behind. Several months after
being
transferred to the TEMPEST, Bree and Jackson married. On the way home
from
their honeymoon on Vulcan, they prevented two Ferengi from hijacking a
shuttle.
Jackson took up an appointment on the Tempest as ACMO after the
honeymoon.
It was
at this time that the Tempest was ordered to Grey Fleet. However,
on it's
way, the Tempest ran into a Changeling conspiracy, which saw the CO
and
XO put out of duty for several days. During this time, Bree was acting
CO,
and prevented the Tempest from being destroyed after it went through a
wormhole;
and she got the Tempest safely back through the wormhole and to
Grey
Fleet. After the court martial of the CO, Bree was promoted and given
the
position of Executive Officer.
After
two years serving as XO, Bree was temporarily promoted to acting CO
during
the exodus of several senior staff members. She was then given the
brevreted
rank of Captain, and given command of the TEMPEST.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:
"Bryony
was one of the top students of her class. However, there were
times
when she came close to insubordination because of her blunt way of
speaking.
She will ask questions of officers higher than her that really
shouldn't
be asked by an officer of her rank, but can be very tactful at
times.
Her willingness to help other students made her a lot of friends,
and
she always gave more than 100% in her practical work. Beware of her
liking
for practical jokes. Cmdr Tugh, a Klingon instructor, was not at all
please
upon finding two Tribbles in his desk. The Tribbles soon multiplied
rapidly,
unfortunately for the Cmdr. Then there was the incident with the
electronic
mice, which is probably better left unsaid. I'm sure she will
outgrow
this liking for practical jokes. But above all, she is very loyal
and
will help those in need."
Captain Mittano D'Angettolo,
Starfleet Academy SD 71015
"Lt.
Bryony West had been serving under my command for nearly one
year.
During that time we had several dangerous and exploiting missions to
fulfill
that demanded most of her. Her position was CEO mainly, but
situations
forced her to work in positions of CSciO, CSO and OPS as well.
The
most important thing about her work was her readiness to do whatever
needed
to be done. There never was a time a crew couldn't count on her
loyalty,
knowledge, ability and willingness.
As a
matter of fact she took part and an incident that caused a
degradation
of the whole crew under my command. But records clearly show
that
she didn't play an active role in that case.
Bryony
West is a crewmember every crew MUST have. In addition to her
professional
ambitions I must stress that she also is a valuable friend as
one
needs one aboard a starship. I'm not glad that my position as CO forced
me not
to get to now her better in private."
